don't shift manually with an automatic, it will damage your tranny, and don't put it in Neutral and drop it in OD either, i blew my tranny doing that lol. Tho i did get excellant results and ran mid to high 13s doing that, but trust me, that Effs up your tranny big time! Just get a good pair of street slicks (nitto makes some badass tires) hold your foot hard on the break and rev it up to where u want it. I like to use the E-Brake just to hold me a little better and prevent my back tires frome slipping. Oh and watch out for the stealth/3000 GT, there are fast if its a AWD TT. I ran a stealth with AWD TT and got waxed, just thought u should know lol

dont rev it past about 1800 rpms, or whatever the stock stall speed is or you mise well neutral bomb your tranny[8D]

For a good launch you'll just have to practice brakestands. Except instead of trying to smoke your tires right when you feel them start to break loose.....thats about where you want your RPMs when you launch. Right when you feel them wanting to slip is the best time to let off that brake and take a win. This seems to work for me anyways.....lol
