Default Racing with a v6

Hey i got a 96 camaro rs autoi think i have the Y87 performance package too. So if a slicked out ricer pulls up next to me and i want to race him, should i just put it in drive and floor it? Or should i shift threw the gears? Im new to it all, so any ideas would be great. Thanks

you should line up and put the car in nutral, rev it up very high like 5300 rpm's, then drop it in drive. to get a good launch. maybe put a large aluminum wing mounted on the factory spoiler will give you maybe 30 hp... some stickers help too. i dunno how the stickers will effect real cars but on hondas its good for 30-40 hp...im afraid to tell you but most ricers come with a 300 hp v8. i wouldnt want to race em. by the way im F-IN w/you, lol dont do it.

Don't manually shift through the gears if you have an automatic. That isn't actually faster and isn't great for your transmission.

Ok i found online that my car will run a 0-60 in like 8 seconds and the 1/4 in like 16.2. That seems really slow. Is that at all right? Thanks

My 96 rs automatic runs 15.9's completely stock. The 0-60 time sounds about right. You can take quite a few ricers.I have raced about 5 or 6 civics and other ricers and haven't lost to one yet. There are some pretty fast ricers out there so pick your races carefully.

like to 2lucke said majority of ricers are going to be nooooo problem civics preludes most eclipese uhhh most toyodas too stay away from evos sti not that youll probly ever see one but if i see a supra turn tail and run...... all nissans but the sept for the 350 Z arent any big deal if specially if theyre stock the just go with it but watch out for the super bangers evo sti 350 z(mostly the first two) but civics arent hard to kill but they sure are fun

You should definitely be able to take almost all Toyotas with exception of MR2s and Supras. You should kill Hondas except for anything that may be swapped because I've seen swapped civics w/ GSR motors outrun Z28s. Nissans aren't a problem stock except for the 350Z and 300ZX TT but my old modified altima 4 cylinder could hang with V6 camaros. You should beat all Mitsubishis except VR4s and Eclipse GSXs. You should take anything with a fart can that isn't obviously turbo though so good luck making asses out of ricers.
