LT1 Z just a little <mach1 or none sc cobra. LS1> mach1 or none sc cobra. LS1< than SC cobra.

This is bassed on stock vehicals and only in average 1/4 times.

 

sounds like a good idea to me to take it to the track.....and idk what he was doin...crappy launch, somethin else maybe, idk, but i know ive seen a lot of v8 mustangs get eaten by a lot worse than a 3.8 camaro...its a lot closer race than ud first think

i guess i got lucky when i beat a 97 and a 94 zz8 when i was stock.. i know a ls would beat me bad.. buti am doubting the lt will.. granted i was neck and neck while barely pullin ahead. i dont think a stock lt1 would kill me..

 

^^^^^the lt1 is usually considered a drivers race stock v stock with a PI GT with the edge to the Z the longer the race. It is a little more powerful, but not much. It does, however, mod better than a 2v GT.
but for the ls1 a 2v mustang will need some form of FI or an agressive head/cam upgrade with full boltons. my TA made 331rwhp with a lid, 2.5" catted ypipe, and catback(which is on the high side, somewhat freakish) most are 300rwhp stock. my old mustang was full boltons and made 260hp [&o]with the 100 shot of nitrous it made only 345rwhp, which isnt much ahead of a stock fbody. it showed too, i could walk fbodies, but i would never smoke them.


even tho on MF people seem to think differently, the bullit and GT area drivers race with a slight edge going to the bullit. for some reason there are some yahoo's on that site thatt hink their bullit with a xpipe and intake and tune can hang with cobra's. just not the case

 

i beat my neighbors 4.6 with my 3.8 when i had it, i dont talk to the kid cuz he's a *** hole, so i dont know if it runs good, if it's stock, or even if it's a auto or manual, but based on shifts i think auto, and i beleave it is a 98. but we raced from a dig till about 75, and i had him by 2 or 3 cars, but again mine wasnt really sotck, had either 3.73 or 4.10 gears, exhaust, CAI, and was standard.
