Do I get a prize if I answer right?! I'll go with,uh, Impala right? Only had 260hp not 275hp that the camaro had. That's my final answer!

no...caprices i know for sure had the baby lt1...it was a 4.3 litre...smaller crank i believe but slvr could probably do better than that. i know there's a guy who is planning to take a regular lt1 block and using a smaller crank and making it a 302 CI...rev it to the moon! lol

i hope your friend knows that he's not going to be able to make that without a large journal 283 crank (which btw, were only installed in the DZ302 from the '69 Z28). and those cranks USED are pulling $1000-$1600

the 302 is a 327/350 block with a 283 crank. that gives you a 4" bore and 3" stroke. pre 69 the 283 was a small journal crank, but so were the small blocks back then. 68 was the last year of the small journal cranks in any sbc.

so wait, he's going to ADD material to either the block or the crank??? the 283 small journal is only a 2.35" journal. the LT1 journals are 2.5". something tells me this guy has his numbers backwards, or he's smoking some really good sh*t
