That's nuts for a sb. For the longest time, the ls427 was my favorite, then the 454 came along. Now apparently there's a 468. What's next, a 502 small block?

trucks got a 5.3 which is based on the same engine design, still LS series. the LSX is actually an aftermarket block with redesigned sleeves and some other cool stuff to allow for huge bores and stroked. i think the biggest ones are in the 460 cubic inch range. so the motors are actually known as "LS series" and yes, its a 346.

i dont know my trucks very well, but they did not get the ls1, that was reserved for the vette and fbodies. there were some other engine codes thrown out like the lq9, which went into other chevy v8 apps, but i dont remember displacement.

the ls1 is a 350hp all aluminum motor.
Alright, to clarify, I was using X as a variable so I didn't have to say LT1, LT4, LT5, LS1, LS7, LS2, LS3, LS9 etc.

The LQ9 is the 6.0 iron block they put in HD series trucks. Like 367 horsepower or something i cant remember exactly.

It would seem that GM has secretly put our loved LT1 in more than Just Camaros and Impalas. A friend of mine had a Cadilac with and LT1. Deceteful!!!
