I figured this one deserved its own thread, on my just mentioned 13.036 run the left lane had a 96ish honda. I think his buddies convinced him to run me, or maybe just the lane was opened (I run whatever too). We stage and the light went POW green (I have never done pro tree). So after the honda got rolling I figured I might want to go too so I hit it (the times are in the other thread if you care). At the 1/4 I look back in the mirror and the honda is smoking everywhere at about the 330' mark. Then even worse he limped it all the way down the track and shut it down for, well a long time. It was my last run anyway and I air the tires back up and was gone in about 30 minutes and they were still cleaning it up (sorry Carolina Dragway). I felt bad for the guy, turns out some buddies watching said he missed 2nd twice (?) then just detonated in place. I want to go talk to the guy and offer condolences, but what do you say, you know?
