most of the 73 Chevelle's had a 307 with a 2bbl.. but the 73 Chevelle could also be bought with a I6 through a 396, if it is a 350 4 bbl or a 396 car you will get spanked. if it is a 350 2bbl you'll have a chance , and if it's a 307 or I6 you'll spank him. those cars are heavy but they have a great chassis ( 4 link from factory) and good weight tranfer.

i'm just wondering where he gets the thought that hes faster and why he owns a classic chevelle if he doesnt even know what engine he has. not to be an @$$ about it though, even people that don't know much about cars still know whats good..

you could also get a Chevelle SS in 1973 , some had 454's......if it has a 350 and a 4 bbl and is decent shape, it will still kill a V6 maro, torque is on the carbed V8's side.the 2bbl 350 had 255lb tq and the 4 bbl had 270 ft lb...and it made it below 1800 rpm - 4000 rpm.....and if it's a BB car...you stand no chance 375lb tq
