For an LT1 Z28 it would be a good race between a VR4 and the Z. For an LS1 Z28 my money would be on the LS1 hands down (providing we have good drivers here...)

 

Yeah haha I've driven both.. the LS1 is lighter and more powerful.. I found the Z28 much faster. I got me and my buddy to race both and I walked on it all day. We switched in case it was driver error and he walked me all day. No matter how you look at it, stock for stock, Z28 is more powerful and lighter. It wins no problem.
