It will be close but you should be a good match for him. The SL is still heavy and lacks some of the low end power of the 3.8. Still it would be a good race. You should be able to take him

from what ive heard the 3000gt looks way faster than it actually is.
my friend picked one up off his grandpa for $5k
and the fxcking things only got 5000 miles on it. talk about a deal.
but its still notvery fast. i think my camaro could take him but he wont race it.

The VR4 3000GT is a great idea. But it ends there. The car is super heavy for its power tiping in close to 3700 pounds from a car that only makesany where from 260 up to around 280 HP in her best years at the crank. She alsohas a bigproblemin herAWD drive line. Only making about 220-240 to the groundonce againdepending on the year. This is why the VR4 gallant and the GSX are more common power plants to build off of for most DSM guys.

Dont get me wrong its still a nice car and stock for stocki am sorry to say isgoing to be my pick vs a stock 3.8. The good news is if your friends car is stick and he cant drive it is very easy to bog the the car from a dig and you may have a chance. The down side is if he is a fair driver and has ran the car a few times he will know this and will get a good jump out of the hole as long as his clutch is good and up to spec.

*bunkers down waiting for 3000gtKicksAss to come back*

You'll take him as long as you have a decent driver mod...
