2000 v6 vs 1991 z28
i have a 2000 v6 automatic with 3.42 gears and my dad has a 1991 305 tpi automatic with 2.73 gears. we were on the interstate and we raced from 50 to 100 and my car won which suprised me. then we pull up at a stop light a couple minutes later and we raced from there and his car won off the line up until about 40 which suprised me to. i thought that mine would win off the line because i have a lower gear and that his would win at the higher speeds because he has a higher gear.

There where two TPI 305s offered in 1991 rated at 205@4200HP/285@3200Torque and 230@4200HP/300@3200Torque. If the car does have 2.73s or 3.08 its the first one. The 230HP/300torque package came with 3.42s.
TPI cars have a tone of low end torque however they drop off in the higher part of the power band. With that huge torque difference i can see him jumping out from a dig. And from the roll i can see him being out of his power band and the 3.8 having a small edge.
This would be a good race in the 1/4 since the 305 probably has some age on it its hard to say if it would have a large edge or not making for a good race with one car jumping ahead off the line and the 3.8 trying to run her down near then end. Keep us up to date if you take it too the track
