ok guys.. just wondering how I might come out if I raced a 2001 3.8 Mustang.. Both cars are stock auto's, but with mine probably having almost twice the mileage of the Mustang. I know everyone says just get out and do it, and not to worry about who's gonna win and everything, but I'm just wondering what you guys thought. I'm going to race him if I get the chance, even if people tell me I'm going to lose. I'm not expecting my car to turn into the hulk and eat the mustang in the middle of it or anything, just wondering how it might turn out.

lol.. i couldnt help but laugh when I read that.. so straighforward.. Well.. I guess I'll just have to pressure him into it. Maybe I can get a video of it and post it on here.. not sure if/when it might happen though. hopefully soon.

 

3.8 camaro > 3.8 mustang

I think the brand new 4.0 stangs only have like 210hp

 

yeah.. i knew camaro's were faster in general, but wasnt sure about the newer mustangs.. I heard the 99+ mustangs were quite a bit faster than the older ones, but I guess they're not fast enough..

 

On another posting I lost to at GT Stang 5.0 by only 2 car lengths. Its a short video clip though

 

you could prolly take a gt off the start. i know the 6's are slow 3.8's couldnt imagen a 4.6 being much faster.
only .8 bigger displacement and all.

 

yeah.. the whole thing is set up for tomorrow.. I guess I'll let you guys know how it turns out. Maybe I can get video. If so it will be a few days before I can upload it though. Still havent figured out where its gonna be, but I have a place in mind if worse comes to worse.

 

camaro guys say the maro will win, mustang guys usually say the mustang will win, i am a mustang guy, but i know the camaro will win, ford used the pos 4R70W autos which suck, i doubt he knows about the D2 shift to firm up and quicken the 1-2 shift so you should be fine, the 4l60e is alot quicker and more responsive, a W80 will take a mustang, a 2.73 geared vert will be a drivers race, a Y87 coupe should walk all over any pre 99 sn95 mustang with the exception of cobras, both v6 and gt
