Well my friend has a 2005 mustang v6. Its a stick shift with 4.11 gears, cold air intake, and a small turbo. He says he stomps mudholes in 4.6 mustang GT. I have a 1979 Z28 with a 355, performer intake, unkown headers, true dual 2.5" exhaust w/ unkown flomaster mufflers and no cats, stock gears (3.42 i think.), wit a shaker scoop for air intake. My car isnt runnin yet but will be soon. Who yall think is gonna win?

 

It really could go either way.

 

i've driven a stock stang v6 and they are pretty peppy.. but it really depends on how much boost he's running.. it might be a small turbo, but he could be running 10+... in that case.. yeah he might stomp you.. especially w/ the new gears...

 

There is one guy on the Mustang forums running a 12.4 with a V6 turbo, but he has a lot of mods done. Most S/C'd or turbo'd V6 Stangs will run between mid-13's to high 12's.

 

Yes, A turbo of blower makes any car quite a bit quicker. Be careful, it could be a sucker bet. That thing may be stupid fast.

 

My friend was ridin around in his stang when his friend pulled up beside him. A '96 Z28...stock. Anyway they ran from about a 55-60 mph roll and he said tha Z kicked his ***. What does a lt-1 Z run anyway?

 

I'm going to guess the mustang, not b/c I own one either. the 05 v6 puts out around 210 hp with a 14.8 1/4 stock. with those mods he's going to be considerably (sp?) faster, I'm not gonna guarentee he'll win but I think so. But you might as well race him just to see

THATS ME!!! no hes really talking about me that was a good race i had 2.73s that are now 3.73's so it might be a little diff now

 

I think you could take him because that v6 even with a turbo it can't keep up with the torque of a v-8. I'm all for v-8s no matter how fast you can make a v-6 or 4 banger move they sound like crap and don't stand a chance against a v-8.

 

Well it turns out he doesnt have a turbo or 4.11 gears. All he has is intake and 3.73 gears. He's wantin some spray but my car will be runnin and we'll race before then hopefully. Yall still think he can win? When i looked it up it said 05 v6 stangs run a 15.1 stock? Ima try to git me a min-spool and 4.10 gears but i prolly wont have either one when we race.... or i could postpone it till i do. What yall think?
