A lot of the cars in the poll are stock. We've already finished our little discussion. Leave it alone as Craby said.

I know with basically 90s cars here- were talking about apples& oranges ...but my bone stock 66 gets more looks & compliments than my slightly modded 69 ever does.....and the 69 is a very clean sharp car!!!
Just sayin....

Two different kinds of enthusiasts. People who like customization and innovation, and people who like preservation and nostalgia. Nothing wrong with either imo.

I went to a car show a while back - world of wheels. Bunch of heavily modded stuff there. My dad had a buddy in the show. He had an old brown el camino, restored. He had restored it to its original factory specifications down to the t. It wasn't about making it look "cool" by today's standards, it was about nostalgia. It was way off in the corner and didn't get many looks, but I had a lot of admiration for his tireless efforts to restore the car to its original state. It gives you a taste of history, which I appreciate more than a chopped up classic cadillac with metallic orange paint and hydraulics. But to each his own - I don't hate on anyone who appreicates a car in one way or another. I just get most annoyed by people who pay top dollar for something nice, then abuse it and trade it for something else a year later, like it's a damn candy wrapper or something.

I've had mechanics tell me that if I keep my car looking the way it does, it'll be worth a lot of money not too far down the road. I do get a kick out of preserving it, but what am I really preserving it for? The next guy who buys it 10 years from now who will never drive it either? Why not just enjoy it while I can? It's a thought I battle with frequently: use it, enjoy it, and watch it deteriorate, or preserve it, enjoy it in other ways, and watch it go up in value. I think I kinda try to find a middle ground. I don't park it in crowded parking lots, I don't drive it in bad weather, it is not a commuter vehicle, I don't do donuts or beat on the engine, but I do take it out on pretty days, cruise, and listen to tunes.

Wow Puck. I'm really impressed with your last post. So much in fact that you just earned my vote. I understand where others are coming from as well but people who preserve autos in their factory state like yourself deserve recognition and rightfully so.

I voted for Puck because that is the cleanest red 4th gen I've ever seen. Even without T-tops, I think it's an awesome car.
