Got talked into uncapping for the "Best Pipes" competition at the local trade school show today! I was pleased to win when I saw this great looking hand built trophy one of the guys made!

Congrats man! Can't hear it from here to say it was well deserved, so we're gonna have to take their word for it.

Thanks! Guess I need to have the wife do a video one of these days! I was sure it could be heard clear back in Illinois!

Got my new fan shroud made and installed yesterday. Local HVAC shop bent it up to my specs for $20, and did a nice job, as usual. Changed out the nozzles in the Holleys also. Figured I'll need a bigger shot when I'm running open headers at the drags later this month. Went from 25's to 35's, but I've also got a set of 40's if I need them at the track.

There's about 3/8" clearance between the water pump pulley and the fan motor! Solid mounts on the engine, so all should be fine!

Let me know how that fan shroud works out. A friend of mine had a flat shroud like that, and it actually restricted air flow through the radiator enough to make the engine run too hot on the highway. Removing it fixed the heat problem. If it were tapered a bit like a funnel it wouldn't have been so bad. But being flat like that, the air coming through the radiator hits the shroud like a solid wall.
