Sorry it took so long to get back to this, but school and my job kept me busy.
Alright, after more searching and thinking.. I'm starting to think Turbos and/or nitrous might be better.
Alright, Let's say I have $1500, and sold my car for about.. $3000-4000 at best.. I'd end up with 5500 tops. A SS/Z28 costs probably 10,000 for a decent one, and then higher insurance, and higher gas prices. Then another 2000 for bolt ons, finally ending with 4000 for the turbos. So theoretically I'd be about $11,000 in the hole. Not to mention Z28's and SS's are almost impossible to find where I live (central Canada). A 95 Z28 with 116,000kms is going for $11,000 here. and A2000 WS6 with 124,000kms is going for $16,000.
If I keep my car, we'll say 2000 for internals and an engine rebuild (or the same but newer engine), then 4000 for the turbos.. theoretically I'd be only $4500 in the hole. And 300-400 horsepower would be more then enough for my street driven car..
Any thoughts?
