a 3.8 with 7-8 lbs of boost and full boltons would be a safe sleeper with numbers close to a z28. u could wax most mustang GT's as well.

but nicks 420hp isnt as impressive as it seems. ls1's typically see 400rwhp from full boltons, cam, tune. 400/.85 (signifying 15% driveline loss) is 470hp.

420bhp*.85 (reverse of the reverse calculation i just did) is 357hp.340-350hp is not uncommon from an ls1 with full boltons. thats close enough to make it a drivers race, newer z28 with LTs vs forged 3.8 with 15lbs of boost.

a stock 3.8 wont hold 15lbs tho. once u start talking money figures to make it work u could have gone either way.

if you build it to run 15 lbs of boost
i r never said it did.....

Well.. you're right you'll save on gas and insurance, but and the power will be a fair bit more than you have now, but your not gonna be lookin at SS or Z28 numbers
oh really so your saying he cant pick up 85 horse power and have more power than a LT1?

ill put this up aaaaagain...

the aproximate equation is 7% of you N/A horse power per pound of boost you are running ....

with the 3.8 were talking 200 n/a

so 7% of 200 is 14 thusly 14 horser per lb of boost thusly by running 7 lbs hell pick up 98 horse power... running a rather resonable amount of boost you a good chunk above a LT1 if you build it to run 15 lbs of boost

15x
14
=220

220+200= ofcorse 420 horse ..... thats a fair chunk more thank you gonna get out of LS1

please note by moding the V8 enginges you can catch up to these numbers very quickly the point is that building a V6 is not pointless it takes a little more on the front end somtimes but ultimately might save you a fair chunk of cash....
yeah but a 3.8 doesnt put 200 to the wheels...

no but its still over 200, versus the RS in its 100s. that would throw off your math

i wasnt aware that nics math was for the wheels. it sounds more like a calculation of bhp

i didnt think you could get bhp with mods that depend on the actual rwhp?

imo bhp is just a marketing device.

alot of people calculate bhp based on rwhp. when were just speculating power numbers in a ballpark type measurement whether its bhp or rwhp doesnt matter
