Anyone running boost, would you care to post your setup on this thread? It'd give a good look at what most people do, so that others would have a reference to look at for their own builds/ideas
Thanks

All motor, I go big block, there is nothing like 400+ Hp and 500+ torque. It is there all the time and ya don't have to push a button to feel it.

I'd lean towards a Turbo or Supercharger because it's there all the time. Turbos' are silent so I'd give them an edge. Both make Your car real fast though and no button pushing.

I've always been a turbo junky. With the current bargain buildup, I'm just increasing the size of the motor that the snails hang off of.
;-)

600-700 whp from a 2.0 4 cylinder is fun, but would hardly work in the '72 C-10 I've had for a while that I'm finally getting to.

So far:
-383 LT1 (Eagle 4340 Crank, Eagle Rods, (haven't decided on the pistons yet though)
-Twin 50-trim t3/t4s
-Custom fabbing everything (piping, etc. in-house)
-Tial Wastegates and Bypass Valves
-Looking into what I can actually massage out of these stock heads as I don't want to sink a ton of money into this thing

Going to take my time with this one, as I'm nowhere near as familiar with these motors that have 4 too many cylinders. ;-) My one part-time mechanic is quite knowledgeable on them though, so he'll be helping with some of the buildup.

Why turbo? Because 400-500 h.p. just isn't fun enough.

You left the most fun stuff out, like the nitromethane and methanol mix. Nothing like the sound of M80s going off in your exhaust while just idling & waiting for the light to change. LOL

I am a supercharger nut. I have had several cars with nitrous and they are not any fun when the bottle is empty. The initial cost of a supercharger system is greater but once it is on you are done.A nitrous system is never paid for, you always have to refill the bottle. The only experience I have with turbos is lining up against one at the track. They do make more total horsepower but are very tempermental where heat is concerned. A little extra time staging your car can greatly efect the end result with a turbo.

I like the charger. My set-up makes more torque than the car can plant. I also like the way the torque comes on hard at a low rpm. The engine is a 383. Bottom end has a Callies crank, 4340 h-beam rods, and SRP d-dished pistons. Half-fill of Hard blok for ridgidity. Heads are 200cc Iron eagles. Cam is Comp Cams Nitrous series. Large primary Hooker headers. Two 750 Hollys on top {powder coated!} Mallory ignition fires the mix. I run 6psi of boost on 93 octane pump gas. Carb tuning is a little tricky because they're so far away from the cylinders with a blender in between them, but I always tune rich for safety. Mike
