Cost estimate?
that isnt his actual spedo. that i learned lol. i thought it was his too. the gears dont so much "add" TQ, but they make it seem like more TQ. it's like difference between speed 1 and speed 18 on a speed bike. and yes. it will lower top speed, a lil, and you will reach redline faster.
whenever i see a fast import beat a fast domestic car, i always say "try racing up hill
" lol. imports with no TQ, and mediocre gears wont do crap up hill. to bad there isnt actually a uphill drag race [>:]

hey im jewish... no not really, but i thought i'd throw it up.
and i agree with stig, i've read it couple places. i forgot where tho, i posted it when arguing with a import guy one time. the internals last till about 600HP, and the block can withstand like950HP if i remember. but the tranny and clutch can only handle about 300HP and 300TQ, and the rear ends are weak too. i beleave they also tested that on a engine with like 60kmi. but im not sure about that one. anyway. those 3800s are a serious engine, cept you HAVE to FI them to get anything out of them, which does alot more tortue on a engine than N/A HP would.. but there's a guy who has a turbo one, with 496RWHP running high 10s/low 11s. plus in all honety. they're a much lighter car... but i still agree. buy a V8, but it'd be sick as hell to have a v6 domestic beating v8s and i4s alike. v6 domestics get so much flack.

umm i wasnt really tryin to be a **** but ok BIG NIG sry about the v6 remarks lol maybe i should have said in all due respect before i started the comment.... my bad and i was fu^king with stig and im pretty sure it dont matter and my point was get a v8 but maybe i said it a lil wrong....
I was actually looking for a V8 when I was buying this Camaro. But for my budget at that time all the V8's were '94 or older and had a lot of milage on them. In addition the extra cost for gas from daily driving and high maintanence costs turned me off.
Now, after driving my car for 2 months I am becoming more and more attached to it. So at this point I'd rather make it into a project car over the upcoming few years than buy a V8. Besides, if Stig's estimate earlier in this thread are correct, and I believe they are, I should be able to beat the 300 hp on the spray with only around $2k in upgrades, which is lessthan I would have needed to pay extra for a Z28. And as he said, I'll have the power only when I need it, a click away, so the car should still make for a solid daily driver without killing the drivetrain.
