Hi folks I am new to the forum and am going to be buying a 2010-up SS in the spring/summer ‘22 and I wanted to see what kinds of things I should know first- as you can see I do my homework a year in advance lol.

I was a Mustang guy forever, I had a 88 supercharged LX coupe that I had to sell in th fall because of my divorce. Had the car since 2001 and put quite a bit into it got it running 10.98 @ 127 at the track a few years back. I learned quite a bit about tuning the car (used a quarter horse tuner if anyone knows what that is).

I want to get a 2010 up SS and the mileage doesn’t really matter as it won’t be my only vehicle. I was just wondering what are common issues, common modifications people do on these cars and if possible, what are my self tuning options (standalone preferred but flash tuners are fine too).

Probably going to get an automatic (getting old) but manual is fine too so if there’s any performance difference I’d like to know. It won’t be a track car, mostly nice weather and weekends to take my girls to the ice cream drive in. I may take it to the track for fun someday, not sure. Not looking to go 10s anymore lol.
