Tuner to Muscle
Hello! I am a owner of a 1991 Toyota MR2. I would still be driving it but my rebuild isn't going so well. So, I decided to get a new car. I came across a 1994 Z28 auto with 175k miles... BUT! It has a rebuild motor and trans. Since I'm used to a revy four and a five speed this eight and auto is a new thing for me, not to mention the size! But I have a few basic questions..
My trans has P, R, N, O/D, D, and 2 selections. I don't plan on doing any 'racing' but when the time comes what should I launch from? I am not familiar with automatic performance. Anyone wanna share their knowledge as to how to reliably 'race' with the auto trans (launch, downshift, upshift, etc.)?
I learned many 'secrets' about my MR2 and I wish to learn the same about my new Camaro. For starters, what is the engine code (LT1?) and the trans code? For example, my two has a 5S-FE engine and a S54 transmission. Also, are there any secrets that arn't openly shared?
Example: The hydraulic clutch's bleeder valves are useless since they are not at the highest point of the system. You must crack open the rubber boot on the slave cylinder in order to get a proper bleed. (in reference to my MR2)
^ Yeah, weird stuff like that!
Anyway, I have a bunch of little things that I will be posting (in the correct forums) but not yet. These are just some very general inquires of mine.
Thank you!
