Thumbs up THANX 4 letting me join!! Front tires rub issue!!!

Newb here. from KY. I have a 79 Camaro. I have a problem with my front tire size. I have 15x7 Cragars on the front. I bought 225/70/R15's for the fronts and I got 15x10 Cragars on the back (275/60/R15's-no issues on that size) I have read on many forums that this is a normal size for a '79 camaro front tire size. I should have researched it more before i blew the money on the BFG's. So i took the Cragars to the local tire store and they put em on the rims. I was so wrapped up with other Camaro restoration projects I didnt realize until the 1st time i tried to drive it a few weeks ago that the front tires rub bigtime. I can only turn the steering wheel 1.5" to the left or right. But i see a few 2nd Gen camaro owners ARE using the size i mentioned and said minimal to no tire rub at all. I put all new front end on my 79 last summer. (Monroe shocks, factory springs, ball joints, tie-rods, brakes, etc. The front tires look awesome. Real beefy and stout stance. But none of that is gonna matter if i cant turn the steering wheel lol. What am i doing wrong??? This is the 1st time I've restored a Camaro. Feel free to crack any jokes on me if i just bought too big of a size. Lol. I'm a good sport!! Just need to know if i can make the 225/70/R15 (15x7's) fronts work or if i gotta get a different size. Do I need taller springs? Could it be cuz i havent got the doghouse completely lined up? Idk. I'm swingin' wild here lol. It's all new to me. I will post a few pics of my 79. maybe someone can see the problem. Is there a way to tuck them inside the wheel well? Please help if you can Thanx in advance. Also thanx to CF for letting me join!!

I'm thinking the 70's series tires are too tall, looking at the last pic is a giveaway.
I've never owned a 2nd gen car so no expert but thinking 60's series should have been used up front too.

you are prolly right my friend, rookie mistake on my part. I'm 51. Have owned 7 camaros thru the yrs, But this is the 1st one I ever restored. Definitely a learning process. Been building this one for 3.5 yrs and still haven't driven it, but i am close. Thank you for the reply. The pic you posted of the silver 4th gen is beautiful!!! Take care!!!

Thanks,it's my sig pic.
I'm 67 and have owned three Camaros,my first was a '69 I dropped a 427 four speed into in back in the late 1970's.
The second was many years later a '93 Z28 I left stock and drove for 7 years and the silver one in the pic is my highly modded 2001 SS I bought myself as a 60th b-day present.
