Hi All
I have joined the forum in hope someone may be able to identify a steering column. I need to identify the year so I can get a replacement ignition switch (one on column), I originally believed it was from a 69 Camaro but now I am not sure so I need some help. I have been speaking with Wells Vehicle Electronics (who have been great) but without a year it is a bit hit and miss, as all the switches are configured the same just the internals are different.

The column is in a 32 Chev roadster street rod.
Column details
Tilt,
no dimmer switch attached,
floor shift,
lever under key barrel that is pushed down to allow barrel into lock position (distinctive feature).
Problem ignition switch has 3 positions Lock, on and start
So if anyone can identify the column any advice would be appreciated.
I don't claim to know every column GM made but I not do not remember that one. I used to rebuild them at the dealer back in the 80s. Is that lever on the bottom for telescoping? Possibly 69 Corvette or aftermarket?
Either way if you have a GM key and a GM dealer they should be able to match it up or get the number off it. You can have the cylinder out in 20 minutes. If you really need to Identify the column that lever is the key, it is not common. There is an raised area where the turn signal cable runs down the column. I am not use to seeing that. GM columns are normally round.
Edit: is that lever just some add on for the hazard lights?

Thanks for your reply, the lever is used only to allow the key barrel to be rotated back into the lock position and the key removed, no other purpose. The raised area on the column is only to allow the lever to operate. If all fails I will pull out the barrel

None of that sounds US GM stock to me. I do not remember any GM car that had a lever to remove the Key. Could it be out of a Holden?

I spoke with a friend who has written a book on the history of holden in australia and he said no holdens had tilt columns. So that eliminates that option. I have placed a query on the GM forum also so I may get something from that. Thanks for your help. I will keep the thread alive with developments.
