Canadian Member joining up - 3 Fbodies in our family
Hey all,
I am a 39 year old die hard car nut and am nearing completion of the first custom build i've done...my 1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 that houses a forged LS2 and single turbo with 6 speed manual transmission making 710hp/tq with 15# boost at the wheels or 800+ crank hp/tq. Just a few odds n sodds to finish and she'll be done.
I am starting a slight bit of restoration of my father's 1974 original owner Chevrolet Camaro Type LT in green with 4 speed transmission. On top of interior bits i have to source out, the engine and transmission need to be yanked to re-gasket as there are small leaks and "sweating" in places. The car underwent a frame-up exterior restoration a couple years back, but i can tell from going over it....it needs some finessing. I will be connecting with you all and asking for help in completing this project for my almost 70 year old father who can no longer drive the car. We are keeping it in the family and though i'm not a mechanic, i'm up to trying just about anything outside or welding!
The 3rd Fbody of mention is a 1969 Cortez Silver Camaro SS 396 with 4 spd transmission that went across Barrett Jackson's block a couple years back. It also needs some attention...which i will get to when time allows.
Here are some pics of my garage:
Here is my diecast collection the wife won't allow in the house:
Hard to tell but i made an 4'x8' peg board and painted a large world map with a Hot Wheels Logo on it and have hundreds of original small diecast cars there:
When my son was younger, i custom scale drew and cut out plywood and made him a Shelby Cobra bed...these are the wood pieces that surrounded the bed frame...they now grace my walls:
Nothing exciting: winter wheels, snowblower and golf equipment with camaro parts under the landing:
Tools, and lots of them ceiling mounted bike storage and freezer full of food:
