Default Rebuilding process an life spand on LT1 engine an trans

hey whats up guys i jus purchased a 1996 z28 that has 125,000 miles on it for cheap. The car is in amazing shape and runs perfect, but i already know thos pos ricers can last forever but idk about the LT1 engine n esp the auto trans that comes with it. Now i want to purchase a crate small block thats stroked out to 383 but im not sure if there dependable or not, n im torn on whether i should jus rebuild the trans i hav or try an go after the T56.So im pretty much wondering can the car last me another year to two while i save up for rebuilding and whats the best route to go to in my rebuilding process ?

What are your plans for the car daily driver, drag car, both. Gas mileage in with a 383 stroker sucks but you'll definitly have more power Not positive but im pretty sure a crate 383 pushes around 425 horsepower. If you go with a 383 i would put a turbo hydromatic tranny behind it.

When im finished with the car i want to be able to cruise around on the street an take it to the track every once in awhile. But now im curious if i should go with one of the LS crate motors if im rebuilding the car.

And now the front bumper is cracked and my hood has a dent on the driver side above the headlight due to my rear end swinging out on me. So do you know any sites to look for front bumpers and im also lookin for carbon fiber hoods but ive only come across the cowl induction type and the SS type.

For that ebay is pretty much your best solution, but even then you really don't know the quality of the product til you get it.
