Hey everyone, new here and been on the fence with a eitherlt1 power or ls1 power...either way has to be a t56...lookin for some insight.....will post in the other forum with some details....cheers

 

welcome well the ls1 seems to be the choice for most I had an lt1 in my 95 ,if you got a good one they were good ,ones iron the lt1 so handles more heat ,the ls1 aluminum ,is lighter an it was made to replace the lt1 most ls1 cars will have about 40 more hp too,,they are making many more ls1 ls2 ls3 an more lsx so on ,then they made when it comes down to lt1 ,I hear about a new version of the lt1 in the new stingray ,but I would say most guys will go ls1 ,my ultimate ride is 2002 le1 auto or manual an a ls7 swap with about 650hp ,,or just an ls1 ,they seem to have had a lot less problems then the lt1 ,this guy who is just like you looking at 94 lt1 or 01 ls1 ,now one thing a person can do is swap an ls1 into the the 93-97 lt1 cars ,so it depends on how much you want to spend ,my lt1 was strong ,the head gasket went at 99k ,but it still could have been fixed ,it was my choice to go with oldshcool engine in my 95 ,looking back an ls3 could have been had ,but live an learn ,so there are many ways to go ,again most will say ls1 not all though ,reliability an other spin off engines makes it one of the most sought after engines ,one can buy a lt1 used for say $500.00 to $1000,00 where as an ls1 goes for $3500.00 used ,an some people are trashing there Camaros to put them in jeeps an you name it ,fact is its the most popular engine of the last 15 years ,some guys are putting them in mustangs too or the fox body they say
