Default New Camaro owner from Australia

Hi All, Dave here from Melbourne Australia… I’ve just taken delivery of a 1978 Camaro. This car has been my brothers in Ireland for the last 10 years or so… she needs a bit of work to get her to the level I want so I’ll no doubt be bugging you guys with lots of questions..

Way to go, Dave! How much time do you get to switch over to right hand drive?

Thanks guys.. so the car was my brothers back in Ireland for about the last 10 years or so & she has lived in Europe since the early 80’s so the road salts used in Europe have taken their toll on the bottom of the doors & the lower sections of the rear Qtrs. So I’ll need to fix that, I’ve had a bit of practice with my other Muscle cars so shouldn’t be a big deal.

My Plans for the car are like my others, kinda of a resto-mod, better suspension & brakes followed by more power.. I’ll start a build thread on here so I can share & also ask advice/questions.

I don’t have to change the car from left hand drive to right hand drive & I won’t be… my Challenger & GTO are both left hand drive & I’d never change that about them.

The to-do list so far is:

Fix the Rust (probably just patch it for now)
New Headliner
Fix the front end (all of the joints are worn & brittle)
Replace the seat belts with Australian compliant ones
Remove the exhaust cut outs (not legal here in Aus)
Give the car a good inspection & fix/replace anything that’s broken
Drive it until I finish my other two projects & then take it apart to resro-mod it
