Default Manual Gear change

Hi,
I am new to this and hope somebody can help!
I have a 1992 3.1 V6 manual 5 speed Camaro (108k) and over the last couple of days the gear change has become a nightmare!
It takes 3-4 attempts to get into most gears, 4th is the worst. Can i carry out a gearbox oil change? How do i do it?
My boyfriend is a mechanic so we could attempt this together at the weekend...
Can anybody help?
Thanks,
Hannah

you have one of two problems. your clutch is almost gone or your tranny has serious issues. either way a changing the gear oil isn't gonna help. basically your gonna have to pull the tranny. if it's the clutch it's fairly simple to change out. if it's a tranny issue you might ought to take it to a shop. sick
