Hi there. Name’s Kevin. I bought a ’67 RS in Marina Blue and its coming in a couple weeks. So excited, so broke
It’s got a 327/375hp engine off a Corvette rebuilt with 5000 miles on it. It’s got the deluxe interior and RS grille. Its got the powerglide so I’m considering a transmission swap, either a TH400 or a 4 speed. Suggestions? 10 bolt rear with 3:55s Gotta have the Vintage Air. Can the stock center vent be used?
My handle is NormaB because that’s the name of my 5th grade teacher. She had a ’67 RS in Marina Blue too.
I’m looking forward to learning a lot on this forum.
ps: I posted an introduction yesterday and don’t know where it went; so here it is again. Thanks! NormaB
Welcome and congrats! Nice ride.
375hp 327 would have a solid lifter cam if I remember right, unless they put a milder hydraulic lifter cam in it it's not going to be very automatic friendly without a stall speed torque converter.
T-400 is a great trans but having a newer 4 speed auto with the overdrive would be nice.
What's your plan for the car, daily driver or weekend warrior?

Thanks! I think it has a pretty hot cam but not as hot as some I’ve heard online on some videos. I’m going try posting a sound clip and see if it works. Right now, its mated to a Powerslide so I’m not sure what they did to it. Great advice regarding the torque converter. I’d prefer a manual too but it depends on the ergonomics. I need to be able to get the get the clutch to the floor without having the steering wheel on my chest . More than likely, it will be a weekend warrior because it will attract too much attention and I would have to evict my Fiesta ST and park it outside
It’s got Hooker headers with with H pipe and Super 40’s Flowmasters. Any suggestions for quieter mufflers or will it affect the performance?
I also thought of a LS swap but that might be sacreligious given the originality of the car. Its also very expensive. What do you think?
Lots of things to consider. I’ll get some opinions from some Camaro folks in my area.
