Hello,
Newby to the site. My name is Jerry I live on the central coast of calif. Im beginning a project that I’ve been waiting 30 years for. See my infatuation with camaros all started when my dad bought my first car for me back when I was 16 (thanks pops)im 54 now. It cost $800. Back then but trust me it was no beauty it was a project that me and my dad built.Sadly to say a moderately built camaro and a 16 year old kid were not a good combo. It lasted about as long as a cold corona on a hot day.
Yes i piled it up! ended up finding another body that yes i purchased myself lesson learned (thanks pop)I swapped out all the running gear, front clip and i was on my way.
That camaro lasted for about a year before i Ran it off the road and ended up on my top totally destroying it. So then I found another 68 complete car for $800 (remember this was in the early 80’s )minus the engine and tranny I swapped that out and was on the road again. I soon traded it off for a 4x4 truck before it met the same fate as the others.Sorry fellow camaro lovers I probably don’t deserve a forth chance but I’ve kicked myself in the @ss for the last 30 yrs for getting rid of that car. Now to make a long story even longer well I’ve finally got ahold of a 1968 ss/rs with 23,000 miles on her now these miles weren’t easy to come by this car was built by John capps sr for the strip right off the lot in 68ish. Im now turning it back into a street machine it is however missing a few parts. Im looking forward to picking your brains for some advise on some performance parts and upgrades.sorry for such a long introduction but thats my story and im sticking to it (lol)
