Default Gear ratio

Hello,

I have a 1967 Camaro with a ZZ4 350 Muncie 4 spd M20 and a12 bolt from a 69 Camaro. It had 4.11 gears which were too low, making it impossible to drive on the freeway, so I took it to a shop and apparently, they put 3.08’s. I am very unhappy with the outcome. Does anyone Know if that was the right choice/setup

3.08s are for automatics and really too tall for a 4 speed stick, they should have discussed the pros and cons of different ratios with you before hand.
What you need is more like a 3.73 or 3.90,3.90s will give a bit more grunt off the line but still be freeway capable,3.73s a bit more freeway friendly.

3:42 s and or 3:55 are options for you .I have a 1979 Z-28 with a Super T-10 and 3:42 gears .Its a good compromise gear .And tire diameter makes a difference as well.

If one buys a '69 with a ZZ4 and a 4.11:1 rear gear, they shouldn't be concerned with freeway driving.
GM made the ZZ4 for high RPM's and one isn't driving for gas mileage, get a Prius. JMT's
