Default 81 camaro v6-v8 swap

Goodmorning...looking for help with this...did a v6-v8 swap, removed the Ac and computer...removed the harness for the computer and ac also...I now have a positive ground somewhere... makes the alternator squeal when I have the 2 wire plug and the positive wire hooked up to the alternator...If I disconnect one of those either the 2 wire plug or the positive it goes away...is there something I missed? The alternator checks out good...it's a 70amp...for a car with Ac...any suggestions?
thanks....

I would start pulling fuses to see where the issue is. Its been a long time for me but I believe the ECU fuse is only 5 amps. In theory its max draw would be almost un-noticeable except it would kill the battery over night. Since the alt is making noise just start disconnecting stuff. My guess is you bumped a wire or it is just bad luck that the issue started while you were working on on it

Back when I was a mechanic I hated working on older cars. The wires where so brittle and many where chaffing through that I would go under the dash to fix one thing and end up with 4 new issues just because I moved a wiring harness. Even knowing this and moving things as little as possible I still had issues.
