350 sbc new alternator worked once and now doesn’t work
Hello, I recently bought a new chrome alternator for my 1980 camaro. I installed it and it worked fine but after disconnecting the battery since it was going to be sitting for a week I came back and started it and the dummy light turned on indicating it is bad. I do not think it is the wiring but at this point I have no idea bc I have tried everything and at a loss. Any input would be greatly appreciated as I am trying to drive it
Have you checked to see if there is any power output?
It certainly would not be the first new defective alternator I have seen. Those old school alternators are super simple to fix as long as the windings are good.
