Did away with the opti, first with a FAST stand alone (now for sale), and now just run my LT1 with a 850 Holly, MSD Dist & crank trigger, on a single plane intake, on pure Methanol.

 

i went 120k on mine. it was like burnt on the inside. it drove like crap pinging and knocking

 

What exactly is an opti spark? Is it kind of like an MSD?

 

one car about 30k miles.. My second lt1 was at 130ish k on stock when I sold it.

 

well i was wrong on my Opti letting go lol. it's still going strong. 190,499 miles and counting...

 

When you do have to change it, that may be a world record , LOL. Hang it in the shop somewhere.

 

well i have allready changed so much stuff on mine it's not even funny really tired of guesing. New opti spark new coil control module/ignition switch. also under the steering colum there is an orange wire with two wires inside it someone has cut it and put some kind of litle resistance loop in its place. The thing is now my car when my its been ran for about 15 minute's it starts like cutting out the fuel pressure and drops and the volt guage twitch's at the same time. It was cutting out and it would die and not start back up now it will crank back up. O also the fuel pump relay clicks in and out and gets hot

 

any help would be nice
