Well I am glad I read some of the other posts before answering... Pete got it right on the head with the error. This is pretty common with these cars. Make sure the MAF is not gummed up with oil and if it is use some cleaner to wash it. Also using an air compressor to blow the oil off the K&N will keep this from happening. To blow it off properly put a wide mount air jet on and open it up inside the air filter cone. TO not get it too close to harm the filter element just enoug to blow the excess oil off the cloth. if you do it from the outside in then you can get some puddling or extra oil in the recesses and cause the same problem you already have.

OH and the oil can tank a maf sensor if you dont clean it quick. It will burn onto the sensor when it heats up.

ok heres one for ya...i was at the drag track this sat and a girl comes up to ask if she can look at my motor, absoufrigginutly i say. she said her husband just put a cai and new plugs on her 95 or 96 cam and it runs like crap. i said yea sounds like some type of spark issue maybe. she was dissapointed in my motor (damn)as it was a 93 and no maf cause she wanted to check the direction of the arrow on the maf. she said hers was pointing at the filter. i said i dont know anything about a maf but thats doesnt sound right...direction of flow im thinkin. sunday she comes up and says that was her prob. she went from 15.30 to 14.30......and won the friggin race. crazy. all true. i took third. 100 bucks n a plaque. hope some of yas got a chuckle.
