What should I idle at?
My car (sig) doesn't seem to want to hold idle above 800. When I first start it, it'll be around 1000. But then once it warms to around 140, it goes down to 600. I wouldn't mind, since it isn't rough, and it's saving me gas, but my oil pressure drops along with it to below 20. It isn't into the red yet, but it's much lower than I'd like.
What could this be? (since it's related to temperature)

P.S.
By 'warms to around 140', I mean it actually just stays at 140. I have never, ever, EVER seen it get above that. Including the time when I was stuck under an overpass in traffic, in 95 degree weather for half an hour. I was literally in an oven - an enclosed area with heat sources (cars), and the temperature stayed at 140.
Is this a 'problem'? As in, I know the cooler the engine the better, but this seems ridiculous. Is it even into the peak operating temperature range?

sounds just like my 95 z, i have no problems at all. i idle right at 600 and the oil pressure is just under 1/4 on the gauge. car has 131k on it and runs like a champ. i wouldnt worry too much into this. sounds normal to me

ya you should be fine
but just to help me feel a bit btr about the low oil pressure gauge i put royal purple in because its one of the best sythetic oils out there and it coats everything very well so even with low pressure (still seems norm) you should have all the protection you need.
