Exclamation bad idle

I have a 92 Camaro Rs with the 305, it has a bad idle, it is "hunting for an idle" between 400 and 1400 back and forth and sometime wont even start. any ideas? i have already replaced the IAC. maybe a vacuum leak? if so where would you start looking? intake manifold leaking? i'm going crazy trying to get this thing to just settle down already. and i have hopes to get it started before this nice weather dies out. thank you. -rsguy

Hey man, welcome. sorry to hear about your car. Try posting this in the third gen section and you should get help there. Have you checked the fuel/spark systems already to rule them out?

not sure how this forum site is working, thanks i will do that, yea, this car was stored over the winter. I've already drained the gas as much as i could with out doing anything to extreme, filled it up with high octane gas, and a can of sea foam. fuel pump is new. and in the process of replacing spark plugs and spark plug wires(white spots on wires, so im thinking they are arc-ing)

well keep plugging, I'm just afrad for you that it could be jelled gas in the lines, that will take some time to get out. Was there any fuel stabilizer in the tank while it was stored?

maybe clean the injectors or are you carbed. the seafoam does that though right. not up on that stuff. maybe take it out and run her hard see if that will let it work.

i don't know what i did, but it started running, idled out normal, ran drove excellent, went through a whole tank of gas, filled it up with high octane AGAIN and it started crappin out on me at the gas station, i had to get the truck to get her home. now im back to square one, its doing the same thing "hunting for idle" then might start running ok again but as soon as i kill it- it starts hunting again. im going nuts.
