Hi All,

I have a weird engine nise coming from my 95 camaro z28 with the lt1 engine. Its like a whine, or a whistle. I have a youtube video so you all can listen for yourselves.

anyone ever encounter this? Is this a vacuum or something wrong with belt/pulley/tensioner?

cant hear it very well. could be alternator or power steering. how is the steering working?

 

From what I heard, it just sounds like regular load being put on the alternator. Pull it off and have a parts store test it and see if it makes the noise there. If so, bearings could be going bad. If not, I'd look towards the belt.

In my opinion, it almost sounds like the whine that a supercharger makes, just quieter. Can be heard best for 0:17-0:20 seconds.

Get a video with the camera under the hood somewhere and start it for us instead of having it all ready running. You can also get some friends and give it throttle while under the hood and playing it by ear.
