ticks after shut off
last week i flushed and filled the coolant, it ran great afterwards, and i havnt started it since. today i was polishing up the rims and i decided to let her run for a bit to keep the juices flowing. well when i start it it took a few cranks and it kind of popped, tried again and she fired right up, but at first it was kind of idling rough, after a few seconds it went away. I was concerned but i figured since it had been a week since i started it and had the battery unplugged at that time it was just recalibrating or something.
so i let her run for about 7 mins and turned off the ignition. well as soon as the motor cut out i hear a ticking sound about4-5 times, sounded like the headers or something. Ok so now im kinda freaked out. i wait about a half an hour and i start her up again, only this time she starts right up on the 1st crank. so i let her run again about 5 mins till the temp reads around 180 and stays there, and then i turn the ignition off. it still ticked only this time it was 3 ticks tick...tick...tick.
am i just being paranoid and its something normal, or is there something wrong i should check out, what could that sound be !!?

RE: ticks after shut off
That is normal noise made by metal expanding or contracting due to change in temperature, most likely it is caused by the exhaust system cooling down after shutting down the engine. This should be the least of your worries.
