thinking about ditching air density
ok thinking about dumping the 93 harness for a 96 OBDII setup. i got a 4l60-E...actually multiple 4l60-e's.so thats not a problem, besides i can build it up more. i wannt something where i can just hook my laptop up and tune it. i looked into FAST's XFI setup....kinda pricey. i have multiple donor cars lined up for harnesses. i understand im probably gonna rewire the whole car, which is ok by me cause the previous owner had hacked up the audio system... im planning a monsoon install...i need
LT1 OBDII harness. (96-97 camaro/trans am)
96 LT1 PCM
dash harness (perfer 1997 for dash change)
body control module?
monsoon audio related componets.
am i missing anything?

Pull everything from a 97 for the best compatability with what you want. The early Camaros changed alot of stuff almost yearly until 99. I would not try to mix a 96 engine harness with a 97 dash harness.
You will also need the heater box, upper and lower dash, air bag sensors, ABS unit out of the 97 (and if it is a 4 channnel you will need the rear brake lines as well), either mod the brake light circuit for your taillights to work right or use the new tails. That is all I can think of off the top of my head, there may be more. Oh and what craby said.

well im probably gonna stick with the 96...the 97 dash would be great. but i think its pushing it. 96 is OBDII correct?but i do know where a whole 97 camaro z28 is. the motor is ripped out though and knowing how they are in junkyards im quite positive the engine harness has gone with the engine or is cut up beyond saving...

as far as i know they are but you may find a odd 96 one from the first of the yr thats a obd1 so make sure to look it over and make sure. check the number on the pcm and do the background work to find the right numbers. maybe one of the guys has the numbers and will come back for ya.
