yes a little power and mpg will be lost. the computer needs to be tuned for the increased airflow. you will also tire of the volume/attention in a short while.

i just got a cutout. sounds amazing, didnt noticeable affect mpg, and theres a noticeable higher amount of hp in the high rpms. plus if you get tired of it you can just put the cap back on

will you lose power compared to what, the stock exhaust? Absolutely not.

Are you planning on deleting the cat?

Do me a favor, take a deep deep breath and blow it out as hard as you can for 3 seconds, then take another deep breath.

Next, put your hand over your mouth with moderate pressure, take that same deep deep breath and again exhale as hard as you can (keeping hand with pressure over mouth) for 3 seconds, then take another deep breath.

Now, which method, # 1 or # 2 were you able to expel the most air? Which method, #1 or # 2 were you able to inhale the most air on the 2nd deep deep breath?

Now, go try and run 400 yards with unrestricted mouth and again, with restricted mouth.

Which method do you think you can run faster?

have I made my point without getting mechanical?

I'd like to know who in the blue moon gets these kids to think restricting your exhaust is a good thing and makes more power.

Now, if you ant to get into an open header, tuned vs untuned headers and a changing power band then OK, that's a different story but these street cars with exhaust pipes won't have those concerns.

if you have the computer tuned for that you will feel a noticable gain. and most likely better mpg.

Hmmmmm

is the flowmaster a 3 inch system and I assume that you have an off road y pipe that is not restricitive?

Anyway, on my 95 with Pacesetters, off road y but a Magnaflow system, it sounds good inside the car but if you are behind the car and get on the throttle, you hear it.

Are you looking to rattle your teeth inside the car? If so, then you could try and run open headers but be prepared for a few citations from the local gendarme
