Sounds like a security issue or the key chip may be bad.

Is the bulb burned out on the security light or do you see it come on when you turn the key to the "run" position? Can you get it to crank over if you short the solenoid on the starter?

the bulb is fine for the security light. it comes on and goes off like it is suppose to. it does start when you short the selenoid.
