Default Starter won't turn off

I have a 94 Camaro Z28 LT1 .The last time I tried to start my car, the starter would not stop turning, even when the key was in the OFF position. I had to unhook the battery to turn my car off. What could it be?

If I was you I would go and purchase a new starter. If that doesn't solve the problem it could be the ignition module, switch. But I would deff go with a new starter.

sounds more like it would be with the power source feeding the starter, not with the actual starter, possibly the starter soleniod. I would start with going and getting your starter tested, if they can turn it on and off on their machine then you know its not the starter.

You can make your own starter testing "machine" and save yourself a trip to the store. It's called jumper cables from the battery to the starter. Then jump the hot lead to the "start" terminal on the solenoid. Just be sure to hold the starter down to the floor so it doesn't jump around. If it works correctly, you'll know the problem is in the wiring of the car.

Yeah the only reason I suggested that is most people dont rebuild their starters anymore. If it was the solenoid, then I would just replace the starter.
