97 z28 lt1. every now and again when i turn the car over to start it the starter just stops crankin. i can try it again and it will fire right up. im wondering if the starter is trying to quit on me?

 

Sounds like a loose connection, terminals, on the starter or the ground cable.

 

^^^ agree good first step would be to take the battery cables lose and wire brush the heck outa the cable ends and the battery terminals. then turn to the power junction box ( small red plastic box on the passenger side wheelwell) and take the wires lose and clean them as well. is the security light on or flashing when it does this. what is the voltage gage doing when this happens have you noticed. if this doesnt help let us know, ignition switch is another area you may want to look at.

 

i'll do all the jazz with the wires and get back to you. im not sure about the security light, it has only happened 2 times so i never know when its gonna happen. i'll get back to you. thankyou
