Default Speedo problems

Alright... I just wanted to say thanks for all your help guys... I think I got a plan now... first I'm gonna get a set of new headers and get rid of the Flowmasters out back... Then I'm thinking pullies and elec water pump... that's all I got for now... but I got one more problem... My speedometer is about 10mph fast... Does it have different gears or what? Right now when the speedo registers 80 (which should be around 70) my RPM is right at 2500... Is this just a goof or does it have different gears or what? And how easy is this to fix... Thanks for all your help... Oh, it's got stock wheels and tires on it...

Um... I don't think so... they are 245/50-R16 I bought it about a month ago and they are brand new tires so I have no idea... could that really make it that bad?

That is the right size. There is a possibility that the rear end gears were replaced, or a problem with the VSS, or someone changed computer settings.

Yeah... I know the guy who had it before me used a Hypertech Programmer... Could that have changed it and how would I change it back... It's not that big a deal but it gets annoying... And how would I be able to tell what gears are in it?

If he used a Hypertech programmer, the the settings went back to stock when he took it it with him, The Hypertech is set up to only program one car at a time. In ordert to reuse it on a different car, the previous car had to be deprogrammed. Contact the people of PCM for less. They will exchange your PCM with one especially programmed for your mods. Cheaper & better than another Hypertech
