rev limiter

there is a difference when it comes to cams, a stock cam's hp will peak at about 5k so if your cam is stock set it at 5. if you cam is like mine and peaks at 6 then set at 6. you can have a tuner set your stock computer to limit rpms as well.

You don't want to limit the engine's rpm based on the peak rating of your cam, especially since the rev limiter starts to purposely crap the ignition out before the limit rpm setting. Set the max rpm of the engine based on it's own limitations. With a stock engine, that would be the redline shown on your tach. And if the engine is built up, your builder should know it's capabilities. I have one of these adjustable rpm modules on my car, which I like much better than buying the separate "pills", which can start to add up if you want to change the limit back and forth for specific reasons: http://www.summitracing.com/search/?...20module&dds=1

thanks man. now i will purchase the rpm module. one more question. does the rpm module apply for msd igniton boxes with no rev limiter (msd 6200) also? i already have the coil but i'm deciding whether to buy the msd box (6200) or the msd box (6420).

The module will only work with MSD boxes that use the replaceable rpm "chips", it plugs in place of a chip.
Be sure to check compatibility between the module and box.
