B.S! ok

I'm running with a stock 2000 3.8 v6 5 speed manual... there is a stock speed limiter on there apparently.. and it pisses me off... i know my car is well capable of going over 120, in 5th I'm going 120 and the rpm is only at 4k rpm... so anyone know how to take of the governor?

 

You have to get a tune or programmer. You don't need to be going that fast anyways. People get hurt like that.

AND..you say ur car is all stock.. they put the limitor on there for a reason. uTHINK ur car can handle more

 

dispite popular belive removing the limiter will not make your car faster.... it will still take you just as long to get up to that speed and as stan says 90% of races will never get that high so theres really no point......

 

actually he right in saying the 3800 is more than capable of that speed the limiter is for driver saftey reasons....

 

Check what rating your tires are...
If they aren't Z rated, you should never go above 120, which is where they will blow out.

A bit of an overstatement, but the general idea is that his tires won't be able to handle speeds over 120 if he doesn't have Z rated tires.

 

Ah, I didn't see his tires part of his post, my bad.

 

I would like to take it off too, not that I plan on going that fast I'd just like to know I have the capibilty of it
