I have '96 z with a 6-speed, as far as I know its stock.

When I start off from a stop, it seems that it only happens at lower rpms in first gear there is ratteling noise which seems to be coming from the right side of the car mabey around the catylayic converter, which is also near the bell housing so i dont know. The noise goes away as the rpms pass 1500, and may be happening in all gears and I just cant hear it. Any words of wisdom?

 

Heat shield on your cat? Mine rattled around too. I tried tightening it, but just took it off.

doesent seem to be the cover, im thinking mabey the engine is dieseling. Gonna try to up the octane to see if that makes a difference.
