Default Optispark got wet?

95 z28 with 70,000 miles.

I recently made the mistake of driving in the rain and hit a puddle in the middle of the road. The car died and stalled on the side of the road. After trying to start it seemed as if was trying to turn over and now it's like theres no spark. I hope that water didn't get into the intake butfrom reading other postsit sounds like the distributor. I haven't checked it yet but am almost sure of it. Also, when replacing the optispark what is the best value without breaking the bank, They range from $100-$500

Thank you in advance!

Default RE: Optispark got wet?

Get the one from MSD that is completely sealed and waterproof (unlike the factory one). It's not the cheapest, but it's worth it. and if the opti does turn out to bethe problem, i hope for your sake, you knowalot about cars and can change it yourself. Becuase if you want a shop to do it, be ready to spend close to $1000 in labor alone. That is the main reason i would go for the best of the best when choosing the new opti, you don't want to have to go through this again anytime soon. It is a big pain is the ***. I know from experience, i had the opti in my previous 94 LT1 go out on me, wasnt pretty. i changed it myself to save money, but it took me a whole weekend worth of work to do it.
