How low? At what Idle?

Ive always heard, the oil pressure should raise with the rpms. Mine Idles at 700 and holds about 45pds and revd its maxs out at 80, but its not a stock pump.

i have ran 5-7 pounds at idle and it would rise when I revd, but thats an older SBC 400.

Thats bad, if it doesnt move off the redline till you press the gas. I would change the oil/filter and see if that helps . Man if it didnt i wouldnt drive it till i found the prob.
When Its cold, pressure should be higher than warm. Cold start on mine is around 70-80pound,

Could be the oil pressure sender, or bad gage. Verify the pressure using a test gage.

Is it car sounds different then usual? You can also check safety fuses or does the sensor is pluged in (sometimes plug get loose).
