Default Temp/Oil pressure guage problems.

I searched the 3rd gen section, but couldn't find anything.

alright, bought my first camaro and the temp guage in the dash doesn't move at all. replaced the sender on the driver side, still nothing. hooked up an extra guage and temp is right where it should be. tops out around 180 degrees (normal right?) is it a possibility the guage is bad or could it be a bad ground?

Also, my oilpressure guage pegs as soon as you start the car. after its warmed up it flickers a bit but it always stays above the numbers. haven't changed anything yet, sort of stumped on where to start. bad ground with the temp guage? bad guage? (has to have decent pressure or i'd be asking about rebuild tips, haha.)

I've figured out you can pull out the individual guages, but didn't have a chance to pull the dash to check all the wiring (started raining) Any information is appreciated. If i need to replace the guages, where can i get them for a decent price?

Change the sender for the oil pressure gauge. Its either by the filter or the distributer.
The gauges work off a common ground. If the others work (maybe not read right but do move) then the power and ground wires are most likely good. There could be a break in the signal wire. Make sure it did not burn agains the exhaust manifold. Or the gauge itself is bad. If you have a multimeter you can test for continuity and such.
You may have to check out ****-E-bay or the junk yard for an original gauge. Or sometimes you can get lucky and a dealer may have or can find a NOS part.

thanks for the info,

going to hit up a slavage yard tomorrow (supposed to have over 3000 cars/trucks.) hopefully they have a camaro or two for me to pick over. pick up a new guage cluster, and some other goodies if they have them. hopefully that'll fix the temp guage and i'll have to pick up an oil pressure sending unit.
